Unity, 2013 and Beyond
The 2013 Southern Region A. Philip Randolph Institute (APRI) Conference will be held February 22-24 in Raleigh, North Carolina. The theme of the conference is Unity 2013 and Beyond.
From the call letter:
This year’s conference will take place as we remember and celebrate many milestones in our struggle for Civil Rights such as the 50th Anniversary of the March on Washington that rallied hundreds of thousands of people to call for jobs and freedom, the 45th Anniversary of the 1968 Sanitation Workers strike, and most significantly the inauguration of the [44th] president of the United States. This will be a great year to gather, celebrate, and reflect.

The North Carolina chapter of the APRI, a non-partisan advocacy organization, is a vital part of our state’s labor and progressive coalition, operating food banks through its local chapters and organizing voter education and mobilization campaigns.
