See the faces of minimum wage workers
Faces you won’t soon forget
Do you know someone trying to survive life while working for minimum wages?
Watch this clip by Bloomberg News, Video Portraits: Life at Minimum Wage:
Bloomberg Businessweek asked low-income workers around the United States to describe their jobs, aspirations and fears. These working Americans have the most at stake in the debate over whether to hike the federal minimum wage to $10.10.
The truth is no one can survive on $7.25, which is why fast food workers across the United States have gone on strike to demand $15 an hour and the right to form a union.
In fact, the minimum wage is so low that in no state can a minimum wage worker afford a two bedroom apartment working 40 hours a week.
When minimum wage workers cannot afford to keep a roof over their heads, it is time to raise the wage!
