There has been a lot of talk about our nation's debt and budget deficits in run up to the 2012 Election. 30-second television ads paid for by secretive groups and even candidates themselves have laid the blame entirely at the feet of President Obama, but the source of our debt isn't a partisan mystery. Michael Linden, Director of Tax and Budget Policy at the Center for American Progress, took a look at what happened in the ten years since the federal budget was last in the black.
