What: Teach-In on Health Care Reform and Justice
Where: Owasa Community Room, 400 Jones Ferry Rd, Carrboro, NC
When: Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm
Speakers include: Adam Searing, Director, NC Health Access Coalition, NC Justice Center - Adam Sotak, Organizing Director, Democracy NC - Heide Kober, President, Progressive Democrats of North Carolina - Michael Pearlmutter, Co-Chair, Durham for Obama Health Care Committee.
The current health care reform struggle is a showdown between those factions that represent corporations and those that are standing up for people's rights. This is a fight corporations are hell-bent on winning.
What can you do? Make your voice heard! Come get the tools you need to be an effective advocate for comprehensive health insurance reform and justice. We'll discuss the elements of real health care reform, the current status of legislation, corporate influence on the debate, and effective actions for a robust public option.
