Petition asks prosecutors to drop "Moral Monday" charges
Stop criminalizing the right to protest
Members of UE Local 150 and the Southern Workers Assembly have created an online petition where signers can demand prosecutors drop all charges against the almost 1,000 people arrested for participating in civil disobedience during Moral Monday demonstrations earlier this year.
"The right to protest and petition one's government is a fundamental right in the U.S. Constitution and International Human Right recognized by the United Nations - [a right] that the government of N.C. wants to deny labor and human rights activists."
