New Council President for Southeastern NC
Jason Rosin, IATSE, to succeed Wilhelmenia Hardy
Wilhelmenia Hardy, USW 1025, resigned as President of the Southeastern NC Central Labor Council at their January 5, 2009 meeting. The work of the CLC during her tenure not only kept SE NC even in just about every important race this last election, but in New Hanover County, the CLC’s efforts resulted in turning the county "blue" with significant wins in the Governor's race, the US Senate race and helped save two very important and highly contested State Senate seats.
Jason Rosin, Business Agent of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists, and Allied Crafts, (IATSE) Local 491, also based in Wilmington, was elected President to succeed Wilhelmenia. Jason (pictured here with Wilhelmenia at Jan. 5, 2009 meeting) has also worked as a Business Agent for Local 600 and before that as a Union Organizer.
"While we are sad to see Wilhelmenia go," said Rosin, "we have a lot of work ahead. I can only hope to live up to the high standards she set in her tenure as President."
