FREE film screening and discussion in Raleigh
North Carolina Women United (NCWU) will commemorate International Women's Month / Women's History Month on Saturday in Raleigh with a special, free screening of Norma Rae, which stars Sally Field and is based on the life of Crystal Lee Sutton, a textile worker at J.P. Stevens from Roanoke Rapids, NC who was fired from her job for trying to help her coworker form a union. The workers eventually won their union, and Sally Field won the Best Actress Oscar for her role.
