Moral Monday gets a film series
You've heard about Moral Mondays, but what about Moral Movies?
NC State AFL-CIO is proud to be a collaborator, along with the NC NAACP and Working Films, on the Moral Movies film series, which is bringing award-winning documentaries to cities across North Carolina to jump-start community dialogue and action on social, economic, and environmental issues.
MORAL MOVIES will take place the last week of each month from April through July in Wilmington, Asheville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Greenville, and Durham.
If you’re in one of these locations please join us to kick off the series with a free screening of American Teacher. Screenings start on April 24th! (See the event info for your city below).
American Teacher follows the lives and careers of four teachers and offers an opportunity to spotlight teacher pay and public education in North Carolina, which recently dropped to 46th nationally in rankings of teacher salaries.
After the screening representatives from the NCAE and TarHeel Alliance of Classroom Teachers will be on hand to share more about how to get involved and support public education in North Carolina.

Moral Movies will continue through July, with one film a month. Featured films include acclaimed documentaries:
American Teacher (April),
American Winter (May),
Freedom Summer (June), and
Inequality for All (July). The series will entertain topics that have been hotly debated in the North Carolina state legislature and by the public, such as public education, income inequality, and changes to voting laws in the state. The films will spotlight these issues, which will be discussed in interactive post-screening programs designed to offer a forum for community members to share their perspectives, find common ground and discuss potential solutions to the problems at hand.
