Early Voting begins October 23

Voting rights and worker power will be front and center on Thursday, October 23 when workers, union members, environmentalists, and educators go on a “Moral March to the Polls” to cast their vote for a better North Carolina.

Where: (start) Beloved Community Center, 417 Arlington St., Greensboro, NC; (end) Guilford County Courthouse, 301 W. Market St., Greensboro, NC
When: Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 3:00 pm (rally) and 4:15 pm (march)

National AFL-CIO Executive Vice President Tefere Gebre will speak when working families mark the start of Early Voting next week with a 3:00 PM rally at Beloved Community Center, 417 Arlington Street, followed by a 4:15 PM march to the Guilford County Courthouse, 301 W Market Street. The NAACP and its allies in the Forward Together Movement are mobilizing with similar events being held across North Carolina.

"Dollars can’t vote no matter how much money wealthy people and corporations spend to buy our elections," says MaryBe McMillan, Secretary-Treasurer of the NC State AFL-CIO.

"Only people can vote, and no amount of money or voter suppression will stop us from exercising our exclusive power to reclaim this state from the extremists who have put us on a path to decline." -- MaryBe McMillan

The Moral March to the Polls in Greensboro includes voters like you and the AFL-CIO, Working America, Guilford County Association of Educators, NC WARN, Beloved Community, Communication Workers of America, and the NC NAACP.
