Eastern Piedmont CLC supports Roanoke Rapids community
Local AFL-CIO chapter donates to Union Mission
Earlier this month the Eastern Piedmont Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO made a donation to the Union Mission of Roanoke Rapids as part of its commitment to serving the community its members call home.
The Union Mission provides program and support services to homeless men and struggling families, including monthly food distribution and community meals, job training, and by operating a thrift store.
The Eastern Piedmont CLC is one of eight local AFL-CIO chapters across North Carolina. Each CLC is an all-volunteer operation run by delegates from area local unions who develop and carry out an annual work plan that includes community service.
The Eastern Piedmont CLC meets the third Thursday of each month at the USW 9-0425 union hall at 94 Roanoke Ave, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
