This is an unprecedented moment where people are being bombarded with news every hour about terrible things happening to our government and to workers. It can feel overwhelming.
Elon Musk and his so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) are launching new attacks every day on the agencies that union members work at and that provide the services everyone relies on like public safety, public health, education, Medicare, Medicaid, and Veterans benefits. Elon Musk and DOGE are cutting services like these, and more, so that corporations like his have less accountability to play by the rules, and billionaires like him can make more money, and pay less taxes through special breaks and loopholes while working people get left behind.
That is why the AFL-CIO launched the Department of People Who Work for a Living or DPWL for short. The DPWL is built around a really simple idea: We’re going to unite working-class people to stand up to these attacks on our lives and our livelihoods. We’re going to stand up to billionaires.
