Building Policy Power for Workers in 2009
Conversations start at the local level
We won many great victories for working families on Election Day 2008. Now comes the hard part – advancing our legislative agenda during the next session of the General Assembly, beginning in 2009, and fighting off expected challenges from the business lobby to workers’ compensation and other issues important to working families.
Central Labor Councils across North Carolina will host meetings this month to bring union leaders, rank-and-file members, and retirees together with their local legislators and members of Congress in order to begin conversations about moving a progressive agenda in Raleigh and Washington, DC. Participation is open to all members.
