This year’s theme is “An Old Fashioned Parade: Labor Union Made” in reference to the significant strides made by labor unions throughout history says CLDPC Chair, Ben Lee:
“Since its inception 116 years ago, Labor Day has stood to highlight labor unions’ success in fighting for member’s interests with respect to wages, benefits, and working conditions. Always remember those who fought, suffered, and died for our rights as workers – including the 40 hour work week, the weekend, Social Security, and health care. Please never take it for granted.”
