Joint Press Statement by NC State AFL-CIO and Wiley Nickel for Congress About the Start of Early Voting in North Carolina

Quote from NC State AFL-CIO President MaryBe McMillan:

“Today voting in the upcoming midterm elections begins in earnest with the start of One-Stop Early Voting in North Carolina. We are excited to begin casting our ballots for pro-worker champions like Wiley Nickel, Cheri Beasley, and others who will stand alongside working people in our fight for higher wages, safer workplaces, and stronger labor rights!

“Available until November 5th, Early Voting is an essential tool for busy working people who either missed the traditional voter registration deadline or who cannot make it to the polls on Election Day. Early voting gives working people the flexibility to make their voices heard in a critical election to decide control of the U.S. Senate, U.S House, and the N.C. Supreme Court.”

Quote from NC Senator and 13th Congressional District Candidate Wiley Nickel:

“Starting today, North Carolinians can begin to cast their votes for the upcoming election. There is so much at stake in this election, and I’m proud to be a lifelong friend of labor who will fight tooth and nail for working families. In Congress, I’ll continue to fight for every worker’s right to organize and push for better pay, better benefits and safer working conditions."
