Tell candidates for mayor that Charlotte needs a living wage!

The Fight for $15 and a union will hold a public forum for mayoral candidates in Charlotte on Tuesday, August 18.

What: Charlotte Needs A Living Wage! Fight for $15 Mayoral Forum
When: Tuesday, August 18 - doors open with light meal at 5:30 PM; meet-and-greet at 5:45 PM; forum runs 6:45 - 8:00 PM
Where: Double Oaks Community Center, 1326 Prince Hall Ave, Charlotte, NC 28206
Who: Action NC, Raise Up for 15, Working America, NC State AFL-CIO

"This year's mayoral race promises to be one of the most competitive in the city's history," says Ben Carroll with Raise Up for 15.

"Charlotte also recently earned the distinction out of the 50 largest cities in the country as having some of the most deep, intractable poverty and as being one of the most difficult for children born into poverty. If anywhere needs $15, it's Charlotte.

"Join us for a forum with the mayoral candidates to hear where they stand on living wages for the people of Charlotte. Low wage workers and community members will have the opportunity to directly address the candidates about their commitment to raising wages for workers in Charlotte so that we can all pay our bills and raise our families."
