What to do when Mitt Romney comes calling in N.C.

Outsource Mitt
Mitt Romney has outsourced jobs to China and offshoring money to Switzerland even as he claims he would be a job creator and good steward of our economy as President. Do you believe him?
As CEO and Chair of Bain Capital, Mitt Romney has a record of investing in companies that outsourced jobs to other countries like China and Mexico, including at least one North Carolina company that closed its Charlotte plant and moved the jobs to Mexico.
Join us as we greet Mitt’s campaign bus in three North Carolina locations this Sunday with a sea of protestors waving Swiss and Chinese flags and holding signs that make it plain – Outsource Mitt and Off-shore Mitt are not for N.C.!
Send Outsource Mitt Packing in Mooresville! – ROMNEY CANCELLED HIS APPEARANCE
Mitt Romney will begin his tour of North Carolina by condescending to NASCAR fans at NASCAR Tech outside Charlotte. Romney has had trouble relating to NASCAR voters, as shown in these choice quotes:
“I have some friends who are NASCAR team owners.” —Mitt Romney, after being asked whether he follows NASCAR racing (February 2012)
“I like those fancy raincoats you bought. Really sprung for the big bucks.” —Mitt Romney to a group of NASCAR fans wearing plastic ponchos at the Daytona 500 (February 2012)

Send Outsource Mitt Packing in High Point!
The second stop on Mitt’s Bus Tour of North Carolina is a furniture factory in High Point, an industry in a city that has been devastated by the sort of outsourcing Mitt Romney helped to pioneer at Bain Capital.

Mitt Romney will end his barnstorming bus tour of North Carolina less than 12 hours after he arrives with a last stop for pandering at a BBQ shack in Morrisville. There we are certain Romney will try his hardest not to insult the cooks.

Fundraiser for millionaire Mittens
Mitt Romney will return to North Carolina on Wednesday but not for more of Smokey’s delicious pulled pork BBQ. Instead, Romney will attend a million-dollar fundraiser at Duke Mansion in Charlotte. It’s an invitation-only affair, but you can join our party-crashing friends at Action NC not let Romney’s return go unnoticed.
Giving money to Mitt Romney’s campaign is a good investment for the millionaires who will attend this fundraiser. How good? About $87,000-per-person-good! That’s the average value of tax cuts for millionaires Romney has proposed. Where will Romney get the money for that $87,000 giveaway to millionaires? From your middle-class pockets.
This is disgusting.
Being rich is not bad – Mitt is rich because he’s smart and worked his butt off.
Outsourcing is not bad – your iPhone would cost $800 instead of $300 without outsourcing.
Bain Capital is not bad – they did more for this country than 99 percent of other businesses.
Unbelievable ignorance.
You’re right that being rich isn’t bad. Being GREEDY is bad, and through his unethical business practices, his habit of hiding his money in Swiss bank accounts and the Cayman Islands, and his refusal to release his tax returns, Mitt Romney has proven that he values greed more than he values work (http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/2012/08/investigating-mitt-romney-offshore-accounts).
The idea that Mitt Romney got rich off of hard work is laughable considering that to begin with he was born into wealth and privilege. But if you don’t understand how private equity fund managers like Romney at Bain Capital actually become so rich, watch this short video, “The Magic of Private Equity in 8 Simple Steps” (
).
The notion that Bain Capital has done more for this country than 99 percent of other business sounds absurd when you consider that one industry alone – the American automotive industry, from car makers to part suppliers – employs many hundreds of thousands of Americans. Yet, Mitt Romney with his awesome business acumen proudly said, “Let Detroit go bankrupt” (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/19/opinion/19romney.html) even though that would have meant the liquidation of General Motors and Chrysler.
Besides which, can you tell us how many Americans Bain Capital employs? Can you tell our readers how many Americans have lost their jobs because of Bain Capital. Here are a couple of steelworkers who experience first hand what Mitt Romney and Bain Capital did to Kansas City: “Does Mitt Romney Care About Jobs or Just Making Money?” (
).
There are dozens of similar stories (

Many of the attacks on Bain Capital even come from Republicans (http://thinkprogress.org/progress-report/the-top-10-gop-attacks-on-bain-capital/).
