The American Federation of Government Employees is organizing a press conference with North Carolina labor leaders and public policy allies to highlight the effect this shutdown is having on our members, their families, and the state.
Last week, Senator Tillis voted against a bill to guarantee back pay to government workers who worked through the shutdown. This Tuesday, January 30, we’re rallying at his office to show him our disappointment.
The deal will fund the federal government through January 15 and pay our bills through February 7.
Extremists within the House Republican caucus have forced a shutdown of the federal government.
