As we head into the final weeks before the election, we want to offer this 5 minute video to help motivate and focus our election work on the values that underlie the choices in this Election.
The Fifty-Fifth Annual Convention of the NC State AFL-CIO will return to the state capital for two days in September to get energized and mobilize for the final push in our Labor 2012 campaign. Hotel and early-bird registration deadlines are this month.
The site responds to what we working people have told us they want – a leader focused on creating jobs for everyone, not just lining his or her pockets – and offers facts about how Romney does, or doesn’t, match up to people’s aspirations.
Should a Romney Administration take over the federal government, appointing anti-union cronies to the National Labor Relations Board and the Department of Labor – people who will make it their mission to undermine labor law and debilitate workers’ power – will be their top priority.
One-Stop Early Voting began in North Carolina on Thursday, April 19 and runs through Saturday, May 5. During early voting, citizens can go to any one of hundreds of sites in North Carolina and register to vote and cast their ballot in one, convenient stop. Should any worker still think Thom Tillis and the Republican majority in our state legislature are looking out for his or her interests, this puts the lie to that notion. Tillis says his party will push to enshrine North Carolina’s right to work for less status in the state constitution, and he doesn’t even pretend the move is about protecting workers.
