UAW expands its organizing campaign at Nissan into North Carolina

Five thousand workers, 80% of them African-American, are organizing a union at the Nissan car plant in Canton, Mississippi.

They experience dangerous working conditions, bullying by management, unfair treatment of temp workers, line speed-ups and long hours. And when workers began organizing their union, Nissan unlawfully interrogated employees, threatened workers with termination for union activity and said the plant would close if the workers unionize.

Join us Saturday, Jan. 28th for solidarity actions at Nissan dealerships in Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh and make a difference—in Mississippi and in our communities—by standing with the Nissan workers organizing for a voice on the job!

When: Saturday, January 28 at 11:00 AM

In Greensboro: We will meet at Costco Wholesale, 4201 W Wendover Ave, Greensboro, NC 27407, then march to Crown Nissan, at 3900 W Wendover Ave.

In Charlotte: We will meet behind Advance Auto Parts, 9425 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28273 (in the Jo-Ann Fabrics parking lot), then march to Scott Clark Nissan at 9215 South Blvd.

In Raleigh: We will meet at Teamsters union hall, 6317 Angus Dr, Raleigh, NC 27617, and then march across the street to Fred Anderson Nissan of Raleigh, at 9225 Glenwood Ave.

STAND WITH MISSISSIPPI WORKERS!

Together, let’s tell Nissan that workers’ rights are civil rights. Now more than ever, we need to demand fairness from Nissan.
