A life's work dedicated to southern workers
Scott Hoyman's dedicated his career to organizing textile workers in the South from 1951 on, as an international representative for what was then the Textile Workers Union of America (TWUA).
Scott became Regional Director of TWUA in 1966 and became very involved in the J. P. Stevens organizing and boycott campaign, for the newly merged union ACTWU, bargaining for seven years for that contract. Many young organizers on that campaign attest they were inspired by Scott Hoyman.

At the end of his career, Scott was Executive Vice President of Amalgamated and Clothing and Textile Workers Union, which would later become UNITE HERE.
