Trade deal's provisions on prescription drugs could price consumers out of life-saving treatment

Advocates for elder Americans and consumers in general will hold a press conference before the President delivers his State of the Union address to warn of the dangers the Trans-Pacific Partnership at a press conference in Raleigh Tuesday morning.

What: Press Conference
When: Tuesday, January 12th at 9:30 AM
Where: NC Justice Center, 224 South Dawson Street, Raleigh, NC 27601

On Tuesday, January 12th the President will give his State of the Union address to the nation. Early reports suggest that he will urge Congress to pass the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal.

But the TPP is bad for older Americans and all consumers because it will lock in high prescription drug prices. The deal is large and complex and too few people realize the connection between prescription drugs and trade.

That’s why we need your help! We have to make sure that all members of Congress know that the TPP will hurt seniors who rely on prescription drugs and cost American jobs.

We’re holding events in more than 20 cities on Tuesday before the State of the Union to draw attention to the dangers of the TPP.

Please come out to the Raleigh event! We will have a Press Conference beginning at 9:30 am at the North Carolina Justice Center, 224 S. Dawson Street, Raleigh, NC  27601.  We have some great speakers lined up; please come out & show your support!
