Union Summer is a ten week educational internship in which participants are introduced to the labor movement. The Union Summer Internship will run from June 13 through August 19. It will begin with a weeklong orientation and training, which will be held June 13 to June 17. After the training, interns will work in teams in support of AFL-CIO organizing campaigns and other initiatives in various parts of the country. Their work could include having one-on-one conversations with workers organizing their union, organizing direct actions such as marches and rallies, talking with workers impacted by the jobs crisis, as well as assisting in building community, labor and religious support for organizing efforts.
Site Coordinators staff and lead a Union Summer site of interns in an assigned location. Site Coordinators will be hired for a 12 week period – from June 6 through August 26.
