It ain’t easy being young
Young workers today are members of the largest generation of people to enter the workforce since the baby boomers, but they are the least likely to realize their potential collective bargaining power by working together in union, according to a new report by the Center for American Progress.
Millenials are better educated and work in a more productive economy than any previous generation, yet they are paid less, have more debt and fewer job opportunities (thanks in part to older workers having to work later in life), and suffer an unemployment rate that’s twice the national average.
Millenials also face the challenge of overcoming false stereotypes about their work ethic.
