Liz Shuler, national AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer, coming to NC

Stops in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, March 4-5
We are excited to announce that national AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer, Liz Shuler, will be in North Carolina on Monday and Tuesday, March 4th and 5th! Shuler is coming to the Triangle-area to speak about why workers’ rights are important with stops in Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill.
Liz Shuler is the highest-ranking woman leader in the AFL-CIO’s history, and the youngest elected officer ever to sit on its Executive Council. As the college-educated child of a union family, a veteran of efforts to help clerical workers organize, and a labor-community coalition builder, she brings a fresh perspective to the nation’s labor movement, now under attack in a way not seen since the 1920’s – including by our state legislature which recently introduced three anti-union constitutional amendments.

Shuler’s first stop will be in Raleigh for a very “Crucial Conversation” hosted by NC Policy Watch where she will speak on the topic of why unions are good for business and so-called ‘Right-to-Work’ laws are not.
