Solidarity demonstration set for Cary, NC

American Airlines passenger agents have struggled for two years to have a union election, but the company has gone to great lengths - even openly violating the law - to fight them every step of the way. Earlier this year, despite having $4 billion cash in the bank, American Airlines filed for bankruptcy in a bid to break its employee unions.

On October 3, the U.S. 5th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a lower court's decision to block a union election for American's passenger agents. American has said it will appeal that ruling. At stake are the rights of 10,000 passenger service agents, including call center workers in Cary, NC, who work at American Airlines and want to form a union with CWA.

What: Demonstration to show solidarity with American Airlines workers and their union, CWA
When: Friday, October 19, 2012 from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM
Where:  American Airlines call center, 500 Gregson Dr, Cary, NC 27511

The company has sought to delay a union election in court for months as it moves towards bankruptcy. American is threatening lay-offs and massive wage cuts, and without a union the workers will have no voice.  Come out and show the workers they are not alone!
