Federal Employees in Raleigh to Protest Government Shutdown
Local workers among 800,000 nationwide not getting paid during shutdown
What: Forty percent of the federal workforce – 800,000 employees nationwide – are not getting paid or being forced to work without pay during the partial government shutdown that began at midnight Dec. 28. The American Federation of Government Employees is organizing a press conference with North Carolina labor leaders and public policy allies to highlight the effect this shutdown is having on our members, their families, and the state.
When: Friday, January 25 at 11:45am (rally time) and 12:00pm (press conference)
