For living wages and union rights
On May 8th, Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC) joined forces with faith leaders, fast food workers, and hundreds of community supporters in Winston-Salem to fight for living wages and union rights for farm workers at Reynolds American.
"I don't think it's right, either in fast food or in agriculture, that many of the employers take advantage and mistreat us because they know we need a job," says Bojangles worker, Julia Chavez, in this video of the 2014 March on Reynolds featuring Duke professor Bob Korstad, Rev. Curtis Gatewood, and FLOC president Baldemar Velasquez.
