A highlight of the school will be instructors from the Labor Education Program at the University of Arkansas-Little Rock, who provide practical leadership training for your local union officers and shop stewards. General Counsel Trisha Pande will provide participants with an understanding of the most important and useful aspects of state and federal labor law. We also will have an experienced Workers’ Compensation lawyer, Valerie Johnson, explain that program’s most important components.
Students should start getting in shape for our annual Game Day & Picnic, which will be held Wednesday afternoon at Empie Park and include volleyball and catered picnic, free for all attendees and their guests!
Tuition & Fees – Students can stay on campus or commute to campus every day; in either case, tuition & fees cover instruction, materials, admission to Game Day & Picnic, and all meals for on-campus students and lunch daily for commuters. The “Standard” rate only applies to registrations received by June 23, 2023. Affiliates who register students after June 23rd will be charged the “Late” rate. Housing – On-campus communal housing is not comparable to a hotel. If you are used to hotel stays, you may prefer to stay off campus. On-campus participants will be housed in modern, single-sex multi-bedroom suites with air conditioning, a kitchen (range/oven, full-size fridge, sink, and a microwave), common living/dining area, single-occupancy bathrooms with a shower, and private bedrooms with full-size beds. ***Residents will need to bring their own bedding (pillow, blanket, sheets) and towels***.
Registration Cap – Only the first 80 students registered will be guaranteed seats in the order in which they’re registered - so don’t wait! Please select your students as soon as possible and return the enclosed registration form with payment no later than Friday, June 23, 2023, for guaranteed admission and the “Standard” rate.
