Counter Big Oil's fake grassroots astroturfing with the real deal

You've probably seen the disruptive and angry mobs that have been raiding events and town hall meetings recently. While these tactics were initially being used solely in opposition to health care reform, similar tactics are now being used to oppose climate and clean energy reform.

We know this because the media is reporting that:

"A leaked memo sent by an oil industry group reveals a plan to create astroturf rallies at which industry employees posing as "citizens" will urge Congress to oppose climate change legislation."

Big Oil will be busing in anti-environment activists and oil company employees to an event in Greensboro this Thursday (August 20th) to oppose the federal clean energy and climate bill. They want to bamboozle Senator Kay Hagan into thinking that North Carolina voters don't care about this issue. We can't let that happen!

Please join us in Greensboro for a rally of our own on Thursday (outside of the oil funded event) to make it clear to Senator Hagan that North Carolinians want climate action, clean energy, and green jobs.

What: Clean energy jobs press conference and rally
When: Thursday, August 20th, 4:45pm
Where: Greensboro Coliseum-Special Events Complex. Meet in Zone A of the Coliseum parking lot.
