The Charlotte Labor Day Parade returns for 2014 with the theme "An old-fashioned parade, union-made!"

What: Charlotte Labor Day Parade
When: Monday, September 1 at 11:00 AM (pre-parade assembly begins at 8:00 AM)
Where: Assemble at 701 North College St, Charlotte, NC 28202; parade route begins at North Tryon and 9th Street

From the press release:

The 15th annual Charlotte Labor Day Parade will be held Monday September 1st at 11 am.

Organized by the Labor Day Parade Committee in conjunction with local labor unions, the parade honors the accomplishments of organized labor in our country, our region, and in our community.

The parade runs down North Tryon Street from 9th Street through the Square, turning on 3rd Street, then turning onto College Street and ending. It features local labor union floats, vehicles, and marchers. The parade also features political candidates, stepping groups, bands, car clubs, beauty queens, and community groups.

Come on out for "an old fashioned parade - union made"!

DATE AND TIME: Monday September 1st at 11 am. Pre-parade assembly begins at 8 am at 701 North College Street

ROUTE: Parade begins at the Hal Marshall Center, proceeding down Tryon Street, through the Square, turning left onto 3rd Street, and ending at College and 3rd Streets.
