This is par for the course in this area. Ihave lived here all of my life and worked very hard as a staff nurse for many years in a hospital. it was bought by a for profit, (and they are not joking about that!!! We had no say in any changes that was made in benefits, salary changes, or even in the numbers of patients you are expected to care for. The reduce in staff monies did not go tothe patient, it went in the pockets of a corp. in another state with a horrible rep. in the medical world!! When I ask ??’s i was labeled, and when I brought a copy of the stock report in and showed it to a MD, and tried to explain it to my coworkers, I was in the cross hairs. I knew way to much,i became ill after a patient died at 45, I knew that she had just bled to death because she had no insurance. I had a GI bleed myself, a couple of days later, I had surgery, and 8 blood infusions, and they tried every way to not allow me to return. i had appointments with my manager of which she did not keep, I was screamed at by the CNO, that I needed a psych eval, after telling her, that a movie tickethere and there, or a cone of icecream is a slap in the face to hard working staff. I was targeted and all of my work was pulled by an RN on the week end to be evaluated though I had been there 15yrs, and had been GOLDEN, until I woke up. My supervisor quit giving me the info I neede to be Charge RN for the shift, and instead relayed it to the secretary who then informed me. I had multiple appointments cancelled by this same manager, that she had called and set up during my FMLA,yet when I asked her on a sunday night to please meet with me on the following morning.(Monday) Of which she agreed, she told me to be ready at 7:30am, and she would be in to call me to meet. She not only never called, she ignorged my calls three times that day. I went out of town, and called her daily to no avail to meet with her, she never once returned my call. I thought well, she’s mad as usual, and will talk to me monday. I called her 2x’s daily!! leaving voice mail. i returned on Sun. and on Mon. called her, she would not thake my call, I heard her in the background saying she would call me later that day,she did not . I called TUES> NO return call, on Weds. I riecieved a cert. letter terminating my employment. NORTH CAROLINA EMPLOYEE”S HAVE NO VOICE!!! IT IS TIME! PAST TIME!!
What a way to start a the day at the rally than to hear that this is not a union bashing meeting. It was nothing more than corporate greed and another cheap shot at the blue collar workers of america.
