Blame the Unions for Everything?
So much for that argument
Mike Elk, labor reporter for In These Times debates Christopher Prandoni of the horribly misnamed Alliance for Worker Freedom in a recent segment on The Aloyna Show.

As a proud Member Activist of North Carolina Teamsters Local 391 and the Official Volunteer Delegate to the AFL-CIO Triangle Labor Council. I can personally say in my early – days as a Managerial White Collar Yuppie. I was anti-union until I personally saw all the illegal and abuse that I personally experienced and what I was directed to do by upper management to my subordinates. I was told to fire a woman because she became pregnant, not to hire a obese person because of potential health problems. Also I worked over 70 hours a week while receiving no compensation time or pay for those hours while on a project management job in the 1980’s for Barclay’s Bank PLC. Union Members whom are unhappy and feel the union doesn’t do anything for them are mostly union members who don’t bother to be active in their union. By attending meetings, reading and learing your rights in their contracts. They will be able to fight and do something about their present situations that is making them unhappy. Don’t be afraid to file grievances on your own behalf because of fear of retaliation in the workplace by management. The union is only as strong as the individual and its up to you to take the first step. I was also in your place at one time, not anymore! As I matured and became more educated in collective bargaining process and the ways that Corporate America plays their games. They trick the people that they’re on their side. Words like Big Government, Regulations are deemed as Bad for America. What we need is an overhaul of them to meet today’s standards. Not to abolish them like the Tea Party who was founded and funded by the Koch Brothers whom are Multi-Billionaires in Big Oil. Sarah Palin is their paid spokesman and couldn’t give a hoot for you. As Corporate works people to death, doesn’t give them pay raises and slashes benefits. Their now sitting on over TWO TRILLION DOLLARS IN CASH. Guess who benefits. The Greedy CEO’s , BIG BANKS and WALL STREET. Unions are needed more than ever, Wake Up America you are blaming to wrong people, before their strip all worker’s rights and pension protections it will be back to the 1920’s. When their was none. This is my opinion only! GOD Bless America and Her People!
I just wish to thank the CEO’S of corporate America for making this once great country a second class country next to CHINA. Because of thier GREED the U.S.A. will NEVER be on top again. And it all started with UNION BUSTING and the REPUBLICAN PARTY, republican’s have NEVER been a friend to the working class of this country they are for the RICH only. Before the next election stop and read the history of the REPUBLICAN party. UNION’S made the GREAT MIDDLE CLASS of AMERICA by demanding a fair share for our labor. So remember it is the common working man and the UNION’S that built this country not CEO’s.
