Benefit concert for Moral Monday

Hailed as "the best labor singer in North America," singer/songwriter Anne Feeney (aka "the Union Maid") will be performing in Durham, NC on Friday evening, Jan. 31st. Her concert, which begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Eno River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (4907 Garrett Rd.), is a benefit performance for the NC NAACP's Moral Monday Movement.

Feeney is the composer of such widely known folk hits as "Have You been to Jail for Justice?" and "What Ever Happened to the Eight-Hour Day?"

No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Just keep in mind this is a benefit concert for Moral Monday, so your donation will be appreciated.

"I've been comforting the afflicted and afflicting the comfortable since 1968," says the Pittsburgh-based Feeney.

"It has been my privilege to spend most of my waking hours with people who are trying to make a difference in the world... people on strike, or in a union or community organizing drive, or defending women’s rights, the environment, human rights... working to end poverty and racism... teaching peace."

The January 31st concert is sponsored by the awesome Triangle (N.C.) Raging Grannies, who performed at our Pots & Spoons Protest in 2012.
