2019 NC A. Philip Randolph Institute Banquet is April 13th
State Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls to speak
North Carolina State affiliate of the A. Philip Randolph Institute will host its 45th Asa Philip Randolph Annual Education Awards Banquet and Birthday Celebration on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm at Millennium Hotel Durham 2800 Campus Walk Ave, Durham, NC 27705.

This year’s theme, “Facing the Challenge: Preparing for The Future,” will focus on how staying grounded in uncertain times and how we can prevail as WE stand together to continue the fight for workers’ rights and social justice. The event will spotlight outstanding contributions of community activists, elected officials, and labor leaders who, following Mr. Randolph’s legacy, have made strides toward sustaining freedom, social equality and workers’ rights.
North Carolina Supreme Court Justice Anita Earls will be the keynote speaker. Congressman G.K.Butterfield will introduce our keynote speaker. State Senator Mike Woodard will welcome attendees, and AFL-CIO Southern Region Field Representative Isaac Gobern will serve as master of ceremonies.
This year, NC APRI will honor Carrie Clark, Executive Director of North Carolina League of Conservation Voters, with the Community Leader Award, and Andre Barnett, Secretary-Treasurer of United Food and Commercial Worker Local 1208, with the Labor Leader Award.
Event proceeds will support voter engagement, voter education, get-out the-vote strategies and community service programs such as closing the health disparity gap in our community, environmental justice, and feeding the hungry initiatives.
