Our future being traded away behind closed doors

It’s happening now, behind closed doors, and most people don’t even know about it.

Trade representatives from the United States and nearly a dozen other countries are negotiating the largest free trade agreement in U.S. history—the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Free Trade Agreement. And it could mean corporations gain even more power over everything from the wages you make to how clean your drinking water is to the safety of your kids’ toys.

We've put together this video of some of the working people across the world who are speaking out about the TPP and its consequences.

Watch the video now, then find out how you can take action to stop the agreement from benefiting only corporations, not people.

In the past, corporations have hijacked trade deals like the TPP to reap the benefits for themselves while destroying good jobs and polluting our air and water.

For working people, these trade deals have meant closed factories and lower wages, the rolling back of regulations that protect our water, air and food and more veto power for corporations over public health and safety policies.

The sad thing is most people don’t feel the effects of these destructive trade policies until long after corporations have gotten their way in closed-door negotiations. We can’t let that happen with the TPP.

Watch our video to learn more about the devastating consequences a bad TPP will have for working people throughout the world, then share it with your friends and family:
