Calling all cars (of voting rights supporters) to Winston-Salem

An important March for our movement and the nation is coming up on Monday, July 13.

On July 13, the federal court will hear North Carolina NAACP v. McCrory, the lawsuit to reverse North Carolina’s unconstitutional, immoral voter suppression law. The outcome of this North Carolina case will have as much an impact on voting rights across the nation as the March on Selma.

What: March for Voting Rights
When: Monday, July 13, 2015 at 5:00 PM - preceded by other activities (refer to the flyer)
Where: Corpening Plaza, 231 W. 1st Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101

Let us know you're going and check for updates on the Facebook event page.

North Carolina’s 'monster' voting law was the first and the worst since the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act of 1965 in its 2013 decision, Shelby County v. Holder.

Join us for a day of teach-ins and activities that culminates in a March for Voting Rights through downtown Winston-Salem, just like they marched through Selma 50 years ago. We will not surrender the most fundamental right of a democracy: the unabridged right to vote. North Carolina is our Selma!

Even if you can't attend all the activities that day, at least join us in Winston-Salem, NC on July 13 at 5:00 p.m. for this great March for Voting Rights!
