Do or Die: Twitter Power Academy faces March 7th deadline to enroll 50 people
North Carolina’s labor federation will host a “Twitter Power Academy” to train and equip organizers, staff, and activists on how best to use with tools to shape news coverage, recruit influential allies to our causes, and hold elected officials accountable — but only if affiliates and community allies enroll 50 people by March 7th.
Facilitated by Social Movement Technologies, the TPA is an intensive supported learning experience for anyone who really wants to become more powerful in their use of Twitter for organizing. Across seven 60-minute sessions, beginning Tuesday, March 13th at 6:00 PM, the TPA will cover:
1. Optimizing your profile — from brand new to best practices
2. Using Tweepi to grow your account most efficiently
3. Planning & implementing powerful Twitter storms
4. Combining with direct action and other online tactics to maximize impact
5. Activating members
While there’s no cap on the number of participants, to ensure the viability of the training program and keep our costs down, we have set a minimum enrollment of 50 people by March 7th or the training will be cancelled, and fees refunded.
