MillerCoors plans to abandon Carolina by shutting down its profitable, award-winning brewery in Eden, N.C. where 500 people work.
As our fight to defeat the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) continues, the national AFL-CIO is calling state and local labor leaders and affiliates to Washington, DC for a lobbying blitz on February 10th – and for everyone else to flood Congress with phone calls against the TPP.
Community members and state and local politicians will rally 3 PM Tuesday in Eden at an event being organized by Teamsters Local 391 to support hundreds of MillerCoors workers facing the loss of good union jobs in their small, mostly rural town.
When full-time work doesn’t guarantee your economic security, that’s a problem. Sign the NC Justice Center petition calling for NC politicians to push policies that will lead to quality job creation.
Now is the time. Because fast food, home care, child care workers, and others have stood together and raised their voices, the Fight for $15 and union rights is winning across the US and across the South. Next Thursday, we’re coming together to say: North Carolina is next!
