We will never be intimidated by right-wing bullies in our efforts to improve the lives of working families in North Carolina, and thanks to Civitas hard work, we find ourselves in good company.
Worried that public opinion has turned against the out-of-control policy priorities of the North Carolina General Assembly, right-wing political groups are spending big money on high-priced TV ads and a bizarre “billboard tour” trying to claim that conservative state legislative leaders did not cut education funding this year.
The second leg of our “Out of Control in Raleigh” tour continues with stops in Wilmington (3/28) and in Greensboro (4/5), where we will continue to expose the extremist agenda gripping our state legislature.
The Art Pope money machine is paying to bring a host of right-wing extremists to speak at this year’s Civitas-organized Conservative Leadership Conference in Raleigh. Join us at noon on Saturday, March 3 to welcome the delegates.
About 60 union members and community activists showed up at Gaston Community College in Belmont, NC to welcome North Carolina House Speaker Thom Tillis to another of his “Divide & Conquer” town halls. It was Tillis’ first town hall appearance since holding a surprise midnight session of the General Assembly on January 5 to strip teachers of their rights.
North Carolina’s legislature is out of control, and it’s time to speak out and push back. Join us at a public forum about how these hard-line conservatives are turning back the clock, who’s bankrolling their agenda, and what it means for our lives.
