The union solidarity with the Forward Together Moral Movement on display, fired up and ready-to-go, all marching down Fayetteville Street up to the edge of the Old State Capitol grounds, was a sight to behold!
This Valentine’s Day, go on the Moral March with workers, union members, and advocates for working families – all of us walking behind the AFL-CIO banner and marching together to call for North Carolina lawmakers and Gov. McCrory to embrace our agenda of raising wages for all workers.
We are excited to announce the Moral March on Raleigh and HKonJ People’s Assembly will return for Love and Justice on Valentine’s Day 2015. Grab and share the “Save the Date” flyer far and wide!
MaryBe McMillan delivered a rousing speech who gathered at a local Raleigh church before walking over to the legislature on Jones Street, together. In her remarks, MaryBe reminded Lobby Day participants that, “The power is not in this building on Jones Street, brothers and sisters. The power is in our hands!”

Last weekend was the 5th annual Historic Thousands on Jones St., where about a thousand demonstrators – including representatives from the NC State AFL-CIO and our affiliates – marched on the General Assembly and rallied outside the legislative building. Triad independent newspaper, YES! Weekly did a good right up on the event, Hundreds march on Jones Street for economic and social justice, which included several quotes from MaryBe.
