Show of union strength in Statesville

Last month wire manufacturer Hyosung announced it will close its Asheboro, NC plant, and some 310 workers - many of whom are members of the United Steelworkers - will be laid off. The facility, which used to be owned by Goodyear until the Korean company purchased it in 2011, makes the wire used in tire manufacturing.

United Steelworkers, UAW, IBEW, and other AFL-CIO affiliates along with the Teamsters and SEIU are pulling together a "Solidarity Rally" in Statesville next Saturday, October 27. They intend the rally to be a show of support for the laid off workers and for our political program.

What: Sharing Solidarity in North Carolina (rally)
When: Saturday, October 27 from noon to 3 PM
Where: 2290 Salisbury Ave, Statesville, NC  28677

Refreshments will be made available. Please bring a member and bring a chair!
