Cashing-In on the “Decline of North Carolina”
State House Republicans will be cashing-in on the Decline of North Carolina when they gather for a $10,000 per person fundraiser at the posh Carolina Country Club in Raleigh, NC on August 27th.
What: Picket as House Republicans cash-in on selling out NC
When: Tuesday, August 27th from 4:30 to 6 PM
Where: 2500 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27608
State House Speaker and announced U.S. Senate candidate Thom Tillis will join the Republican caucus he leads to reap the rewards of his immoral leadership during the 2013 legislative session – during which unemployment benefits were cut, voting rights suppressed and campaign finance reform gutted, public education severely underfunded, Medicaid expansion denied, and women’s health care options severely restricted. And don’t forget about those huge tax cuts for the rich!
In fact, with the top 1% set to get an average $10,000 tax cut under the Republican budget, the $10,000 price tag of platinum level sponsorship will be more affordable than ever! (source: http://bit.ly/14HtL7C)

More money in politics, more problems for workers
Thanks to sweeping changes in state election law passed in the final two days of the 2013 legislative session, the wealthy and powerful in North Carolina will be able to spend even more to buy influence in state government.
Corporations will be able to funnel more money to political parties, public financing of judicial elections has been eliminated, and limits on individual campaign contributions are going way up – and being indexed to inflation!
You read that right – our immoral General Assembly refuses to increase the minimum wage based on inflation but has provided a way for donors with big pockets to be able to give more money every two years.
Bring your signs to the sidewalk across from Carolina Country Club to shame those who show up to cash-in on the decline of North Carolina!
