Round two, fight!

Recently we told you that city workers in Greensboro, hundreds of whom the city pays so little they're on public assistance, could get a wage boost to $15 / hr.

This good news about raising wages came after AFL-CIO community affiliate Working America joined other groups to host a community wage panel late last month, providing a forum for Greensboro workers to say what they need to make ends meet. City officials who attended the forum said they supported raising wages.

Supporters of raising wages packed the first City Council meeting after the community wage panel discussion. On Tuesday, August 18, we'll have an opportunity to do that again!
