Students get an education inside the classroom and out

We had a great crew this year for Carolina Labor School, the Southeast's premier union member education program held every summer on the campus of UNC Wilmington, where the only prerequisite is a dedication to your union and a desire to be a better informed, more prepared warrior for working people.

Watch Labor School sing "Solidarity Forever".

Members of the Class of 2013 came from all manner of unions - from communications workers to tobacco workers, from paper workers to bus drivers, chemical workers, and many others - for a week-long summer camp of sorts with expert classroom instruction and quality after class camaraderie.

Congratulations to this year's recipients of the Shining Star Award - Antonio Luster, ATU 1328 in Raleigh; Ashley Howard, IATSE 322 in Charlotte; and Eddie Maresca, CWA 3603 in Charlotte!
