We won't stop until we win justice for tobacco farmworkers

Join Farm Labor Organizing Committee, AFL-CIO members and allies in Winston-Salem May 5th at Reynolds American’s annual shareholders meeting to call on the company to sign an agreement with FLOC guaranteeing freedom of association to all farmworkers in their supply chain!

What: 8th annual March on Reynolds

When: Thursday, May 5, 2016, from 10 AM to noon

Where: March begins with a picket line at 401 N. Main St., Winston-Salem, NC 27101; pre- and post-march assembly site at Winston Square Park, 310 Marshall St N, Winston-Salem, NC 27101

Why: Farmworkers who harvest Reynolds American's golden crop live and work in what a 2011 Oxfam America report called a state of fear, enduring human rights abuses on Reynolds' contract farms for which the company has thus far refused to accept that it has a responsibility to end

For the 8th year, FLOC has been calling on tobacco companies to sign an agreement guaranteeing labor rights in their supply chain. In the last three years, FLOC has been in discussions with multiple tobacco companies around a solution to the abuses in NC tobacco fields. However, the industry would rather implement programs that only touch the surface of the issues in the NC fields rather than sign an agreement with FLOC, guaranteeing labor rights in their supply chain, so workers can negotiate their own solutions. So until they sign an agreement, this campaign continues!
