FLOC to deliver 10,000 signatures calling for end to blacklisting and retaliation
Join us Thursday, May 26th at 10:00 AM outside the legislative building in Raleigh to help us hand deliver nearly 10,000 petition signatures and a message to state Senator Brent Jackson to end the abuse, retaliation against, and blacklisting of farmworkers on his family farm.
Who: Members of the Farm Labor Organizing Committee (FLOC), farmworker advocates, community supporters
What: Press conference and petition delivery
When: Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 10:00 AM
Where: Front lawn of the legislative building, 16 West Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27601
Why: State Senator Brent Jackson’s farm has blacklisted and denied employment for the 2016 season to 7 workers after speaking up against labor law violations on his farm. Sen. Jackson’s farm has a history of workers’ rights abuses including stolen wages, threats, and retaliation that must end now!
