“Justicia para Juventino!”

(CHARLOTTE -- May 29, 2018) -- Local community and union leaders will hold a press conference at 9:30 AM Wednesday, May 30th, in front of the Legacy Union building on Stonewall Street in Charlotte, where 24-year-old construction worker and married father, Juventino Hernandez, fell to his death last week.

What: Press conference to demand accountability for the worksite death of Juventino Hernandez

When: Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at 9:30 AM

Where: Legacy Union building, 130 Stonewall Street, Charlotte, NC 28202

Juventino Hernandez lost his life in the employ of Lighthouse Masonry and Gilbane/Shelco General Contractors on Wednesday, May 23rd. He fell to his death, allegedly due a malfunctioning buck hoist system. He was 24 years old, with a wife and four-year old daughter depending on his support at home.

Work on site is set to resume Wednesday, but we not let this tragedy go unmarked. We will be demanding Justicia para Juventino and asking for accountability for his tragic death from his employers and our local government.
