Mock job fair to highlight cronyism at DHHS

With stubbornly-high unemployment in North Carolina and state Republican "solutions" actually making things worse, the shameless cronyism and lavish hiring practices uncovered at the state Department of Health and Human Services (one guy got a $37,000 "severance" after working just one month!) are all the more galling.

That's why we are teaming up with Progress NC Action and Action NC to hold an "Unposted Job Fair" on Wednesday, October 23rd outside Governor McCrory's office at the old state capitol building in downtown Raleigh. This mock job fair will last half an hour and is designed to make the point that the out-of-control political hiring at DHHS has got to stop.

What: Unposted Job Fair
When: Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 4:30 PM until 5:00 PM
Where: North Carolina State Capitol, 1 E. Edenton Street, Raleigh, NC 27601
RSVP: https://www.facebook.com/events/214736068703675/

Come dressed for success, bring your resume, and we'll see if we can't hook you up with one of those cushy jobs at DHHS that never get posted publicly and pay more than most people make in a decade. We hope to see you there!

If you plan to attend, could you let us know? Email us at [email protected].

By the way, if you want to apply for an actual job at DHHS, you can do so here.
