Time for Congress to raise the minimum wage

What kind of Thanksgiving dinner could you provide for your family if all you had to spend was $14.50?

That would be the budget for a minimum wage worker who spent the same percentage of his or her income on Thanksgiving dinner as a worker earning the median wage. Join us at two events - first in Charlotte and then in Raleigh - to show how ridiculous it is that a minimum wage just doesn't work for working families.

When: Monday, November 25 at 10:30 AM
Where: Veterans Park, 2136 Central Ave, Charlotte, NC 28205
RSVP: https://www.facebook.com/events/330655193741062

When: Wednesday, November 27 at 10:30 AM
Where: [NEW LOCATION] NC State AFL-CIO, 1408 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27605
RSVP: https://www.facebook.com/events/469646379814888

This Thanksgiving, Walmart is holding food drives for its own employees. McDonald's is telling its workers to break their food into smaller pieces in order to feel more full. Join us to say that their low pay is NOT OK!

It's time for Congress to raise the minimum wage!
